This adventure takes you to an amazing area, just 2 hours north of Luang Prabang. Enjoy village life around Nong Khiaw, overnight stays in a family and the magical landscapes of this mountainous region. The Nam Ou river always in reach this adventure invites travelers to simply get away for a few days… Welcome to the hinterland of Laos!
Day1: Village Stay & Trek Patam & Waterfalls Hmong + river.
9:00 a.m. Depart Nong Khiaw by local TukTuk, and head out to start your Laos trekking adventure. This trekking will lead you through forest, rice paddies and agricultural village lands. Along the way, we find enough time to visit locals on the field or in the villages. We also take a lunch along the way, maybe in a local house.
Afterwards continue your trekking, there are some beautiful view points on the way to gaze over Nong Khiaw landscapes. In the afternoon we arrive in a Hmong village, a small Hmong community in the mountains whose families will be your hosts for the night.
The evening we spend together with the family and the children in the village. Take your time to relax and to ask questions or help your guide as he prepares a nice trekking-dinner. Overnight in villagers’ house.
Day2: Trekking in the mountains of north Laos, Patam to Payong
After breakfast we have time to discover this area and to visit a waterfall, have lunch in the village or on the way. We continue trekking from Patam village, passing jungle and stunning views to another Hmong village where you will have a enough time to explore the villagers life. Again it will be warm and curious welcome to you. You walk over small hills and up and down to Ban Payong village areas where the Hmong normally live. Arrive Payong village in late afternoon. We will have time to walk around to see and learn about the living style of hill tribe. Overnight and dinner in this village.
Day3
Trekking to the Nam Ou river area, back to Nong Khiaw
This is the last day of this trekking adventure. You will trek from Ban Payong village to the river bank of Nam Ou river, embark on a small boat crossing the river to Ban Sop Kong Lao Lum village and then trekking again around 1hour to reach the Tad Mok waterfall, trekking back to the river bank take a boat along the Nam Ou river enjoy breathtaking mountain views. In about 50 minutes we reach our end destination Nong Khiaw.
